Under the directives of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo, staff members from its field office (FO) in the National Capital Region (NCR) were deployed to check the condition and assess appropriate interventions for the victims of the Resorts World Manila attack which happened around midnight of June 2.
The DSWD FO-NCR assigned four staff from its Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) to conduct hospital visits and facilitate assessment of the injured victims brought in San Juan de Dios Hospital, Pasay General Hospital, Villamor Airbase Hospital, and St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Likewise, five staff members from the Disaster Team and Protective Services Program (PSP) will be assigned to gather information and also conduct assessment on the reported 38 slain victims.
Sec. Taguiwalo said that the DSWD-NCR is prepared to send technical assistance and resource augmentation to assist the affected individuals and their families, if necessary.
“Handa po ang ahensya na magbigay ng kaukulang tulong sa mga nasugatan at mga pamilyang naulila ng madilim na insidenteng nangyari sa Resorts World Manila (The Department is ready to provide appropriate assistance to the injured victims and the families who lost their loved ones because of the incident in Resorts World Manila),” assured the social welfare chief.
“Patuloy din po ang paalala namin sa publiko na manatiling mapagmatyag at alerto sa mga kahina-hinalang mga kilos, bagay o aktibidad at agad itong ipagbigay-alam sa mga awtoridad sa inyong lugar (We also reiterate our reminder to the public to remain alert and vigilant, and to report any unusual behaviour, items, or activity to proper authorities in your area),” said Sec.
