A delegation from Myanmar Government headed by Director Win Htein Kyaw of the Relief and Resettlement Department (RRD) recently had a learning visit at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Pasay City.Eunice Angcao, Finance and Quality Control Head of NROC briefed the delegates on the NROC’s operations and joined them as they toured the different warehouses. She also explained the improved disaster response process of DSWD through the installation of the mechanized production system of packing relief goods, funded by the World Food Programme (WFP).
The learning visit was part of Myanmar Government’s strategy in enhancing its disaster response mechanism in partnership with WFP-Myanmar. Myanmar, similar to the Philippines, is also prone to natural disasters. ###
